Join journalists Benjamin Dangl and April Howard to discuss this important issue.

Benjamin Dangl works as an independent journalist throughout Latin America, writing for publications such as Z Magazine, The Nation, and The Progressive.  He is editor of TowardFreedom.com, a progressive perspective on world events, and UpsideDownWorld.org, an online magazine covering activism and politics in Latin America.  Benjamin won a 2007 Project Censored Award for his coverage of U.S. military operations in Paraguay.  Benjamin also is the author of the newly released book, “The Price of Fire – Resource Wars and Social Movements in Bolivia.”

April Howard is a journalist covering Latin American issues  for a variety of publications including In These Times, The Nation, The Utne Reader, Counterpunch and Third World Resurgence. She is an editor at Upside Down World, an online magazine covering activism and politics in Latin America, and a translator of news and literature in Spanish. She also teaches Latin American Studies, History and Spanish to ages 4-104. She grew up next to the Huntington Gorge, in Richmond, VT.
