Kash Jackson, a Louisiana navy veteran, attended announcements near the Sacred Stone camp’s sacred fire dressed in full naval uniform, telling those there that he would stand in the river with them if needed.
“One thing bonds us, and that’s the blood that runs through our veins,” Jackson told the Shreveport Times. “We all have the right to life, to not have our lands and children stripped from us for big corporations that seek only to take and not to give.”
Jackson shook hands with hundreds of natives and non-natives who thanked him for his words, the Times reported.
