Voices of Resistance: State Repression Against Mapuche Land Recovery in Chile

Sara Huincatripay is a member of the Mapuche community Wechun Lleu. Sara is the first Mapuche woman in Arauco Province to be prosecuted and persecuted under Chile’s 2023 Usurpation Law, decreed and supported by President Gabriel Boric’s administration to criminalize Mapuche attempts to reclaim ancestral lands. Her trial began on 30 January 2025.
