A statement on the situation in the Ukraine from our long-time allies in Russia:

With great concern, the RSEU Council is following the developments in and around Ukraine.  War is the worst thing that can happen to people and to nature.  Acts of war take human lives and have a huge negative impact on the environment. 

We oppose any military solutions to political conflicts, be it acts of war, arms race, military activity, or escalation of tension.  We call for existing problems to be resolved on the basis of negotiations, taking into account the interests of all involved parties.

The RSEU Council expresses deep sympathy with all the affected people and sincere condolences to families of victims.  We call for measures to be taken to preserve the lives and ensure the safety of civilians, as well as to protect nature, regardless of the development of the military situation.
