This post showcases two components of our Global Justice Media Program: Langelle Photography, which has its own website at photolangelle.org; and our partnership with the Sojourner Truth radio show on KPFK Pacifica radio Los Angeles, hosted by civil rights activist Margaret Prescod for two weekly radio features.

The Langelle Photography website includes photo essays and photo exhibits spanning 5 decades that highlight the struggles of peoples around the world for land rights, social justice, forest protection and action on climate change. Our Earth Radiopartnership with the Sojourner Truth show includes a weekly Earth Minute, written and recorded by our Executive Director Anne Petermann; and the Earth Watch segment, an interview every Thursday that addresses an important environmental news story that is flying under the radar.

This week’s Earth Minute, discusses a report just released by the National Academy of Sciences on Forest Health that raises concerns about the ability of the US regulatory system to handle proposals to release genetically engineered trees into wild forests. This week’s Earth Watch is an interview with Food and Water Watch attorney Adam Carlesco on a letter they just released to the UN raising serious concerns about drinking water in the U.S.
