Neil Tangri, Global Alliance of Incinerator Alternatives

Dear Friends at Global Justice Ecology Project,

I think you know this well, but for the record, let me state that Global Justice Ecology Project’s work has been incredibly valuable to GAIA (the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives) and to the larger global alliance of wastepickers. That’s true in general, but in particular in the lead-up to and during COP 17. We have our own media team, and several of us are experienced in media handling, but there is simply no way we could have done what you did — the “available for interviews” list, the media wrangling, the dedicated push-out of key stories and photos (your photo of the month has come back to me from people completely unconnected to our work, just showing the reach of your efforts). In sum, the media work you’ve done was invaluable.

Thanks so much for your hard work!

Neil Tangri, Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives, and the Global Alliance of Wastepickers
