HBO’s screening of 40 Years a Prisoner (March 4, 2023, St. Louis University)
UPDATE: While answering a question during the Q&A Session, asked by Michelle Smith Co-Director, Missourians to Abolish the Death Penalty, Mike Africa Jr. described how bodies of MOVE children were stolen after the 1985 bombing of the MOVE house in Philadelphia:
WHAT: Mike Africa Jr. will screen the 2020 HBO documentary, 40 Years a Prisoner. Mike Africa, Jr. is the star of the documentary. The film tells the story of his tireless efforts to secure the release of his parents, Mike and Debbie Africa, from prison following their arrest and 100-year sentence after the 1978 confrontation between police and MOVE in Powelton Village, Philadelphia.
WHEN: March 4th , 6:30 PM.
WHERE: SLU’s II Monestero Theatre, 3050 Olive St, St Louis
DONATIONS: Suggested donation of $10 dollars at the door. Donations of any size smaller or greater are welcome. No one will be turned away for the lack of funds. All proceeds will go to Mike Africa Jr. for making the trip to come to St. Louis.
