Quilombola communities are fighting for land sovereignty and against eucalyptus plantations. Eucalyptus plantations have been called “green deserts” as they rob the environment of biodiversity and poison the environment with agrotoxins. Genetically engineered eucalyptus threaten to worsen the destruction.
