Action Alert! Guarani Community Violently Evicted for GMO Soy Plantation

In northern Argentina, indigenous people belonging to a Guaraní community in the province of Jujuy have been violently evicted from their lands.  Their houses and farms have been destroyed by bulldozers and the animals on which the community depends for their livelihood have been killed and possessions been burnt.

The attack was led by a soya entrepreneur who wants to appropriate the land for soya.  The community has returned to their land, but are under constant threat of further violence and the provincial administration is denying them their constitutional rights to the land.

Please click here to take part in a new email to demand that the provincial government guarantees the community's land rights and protects them from violence.

Please let friends and family know about this alert, too.  Many thanks!

Yours sincerely,

Guadalupe Rodríguez
